FAQ

Questions people ask us.

This FAQ answers the questions business owners ask us about AI help, in a few sentences each, from our own published pages: prices, how the work runs, your data, your team, and the Agents4Success tools. 196 answers, and the Bottleneck Finder™ is the free place to start.

Getting started

What does Thanks Anderson do?

Thanks Anderson, Inc. is an AI and automation consultancy in Scottsdale, Arizona. We find where a business loses hours and build the AI that fixes it: custom tools, workflow automation, AI training for teams and public agencies, and sales training built from a team's own calls.

I'm not sure what I need. Where should I look first?

If you're not sure what you need, start with the free Bottleneck Finder: seven questions, about three minutes, no email and no signup, and you keep the written brief. If you'd rather talk it through, a free AI session is time with Drew Anderson inside your real work, fixing one thing on the spot and leaving you with what to do next.

Do you work with businesses in my industry?

We publish industry pages for HVAC and home services, general contractors, medical and dental practices, law and accounting firms, real estate and property management, trucking companies and freight brokers, distributors and wholesalers, and public agencies. Each page covers where the hours go, what we'd build and what it costs, and the Bottleneck Finder was tested across 57 industries.

Where's the free audit?

The free audit is the Bottleneck Finder, at /start on thanksanderson.com. The Bottleneck Finder asks seven questions, takes about three minutes, needs no email and no signup, and gives you a written plan with real prices, which sometimes says don't spend anything yet.

More on the Bottleneck Finder

How long does the Bottleneck Finder take?

The Bottleneck Finder takes about three minutes. It asks seven questions about how the work actually gets done, with no email and no signup, and you leave with a written plan: what to fix, what it costs, and what to skip.

More on the Bottleneck Finder

I took the Bottleneck Finder. What now?

Once you finish the Bottleneck Finder, the written brief is yours to keep, download or forward. Do whichever fits what it found: fix it yourself if the brief says you can, pick a $500 First Fix if one of the six options fits, or book a free 30-minute call with Drew to talk through a bigger build.

More on the First Fix page

Can you explain my Bottleneck Finder result?

Every Bottleneck Finder brief lands on one of seven possible outcomes, and two of them we don't charge for: one costs nothing at all, and the other you pay a vendor for, not us. Your brief shows where your answers landed and why, and Drew can walk through yours on a free 30-minute call.

Is AI actually worth it for a small business like mine?

AI is worth it only where it gives your people hours back on work they repeat. The free Bottleneck Finder tells you if that's you: it puts a dollar figure on your biggest bottleneck using your own numbers, and sometimes the plan says don't build anything.

More on the Bottleneck Finder

Am I too small for this? We're a small team.

If your business is too small for a build, the free Bottleneck Finder will say so: a one- or two-truck operation is often better served by a low-cost app it can buy today, and the brief will name that option instead of a build. The free AI Pulse Check is made for a business with a few people.

More on the free sessions page

What kind of tasks can you automate?

The tasks we automate are the ones that drain a week: intake, re-keying, status chasing and reports assembled by hand, lead follow-up, answers locked in one head, and software that doesn't fit. The smallest version is the First Fix menu: missed-call text-back, lead routing, one report you build by hand, intake form into your CRM, a review request after every job, and schema on one page.

More on What We Fix

What's the difference between an AI agent and a chatbot?

A chatbot is AI that answers questions in a chat window, usually on your website. Agentic AI means AI that takes actions on its own. The label gets stretched: Gartner warned about agent washing, rebranding existing products, chatbots included, as AI agents without the abilities (Gartner, June 25, 2025).

More on the comparison

What's an AI automation consultant, and do I need one?

An AI automation consultant watches how the work actually moves, finds where the hours disappear, and builds the thing that fixes it. You may not need one: sometimes the answer is a connector between two systems you already own, or training on software you're already paying for, and if AI isn't the right answer, we'll tell you.

More on the AI Tools page

What's the most common mistake businesses make with AI?

The most common AI mistake is buying before knowing what the real constraint is. When an AI project doesn't take, it's usually one of two things: the process underneath was already broken before anyone automated it, or nobody was ever trained on what got built, so the team quietly went back to doing it by hand.

More on the AI Tools page

Can AI help me get more leads or customers?

AI can help you keep the leads you already pay for: every inquiry captured and followed up, so the follow-up that used to fall through the cracks happens every time, typically $5,000 – $15,000. For new customers finding you, our AI visibility work is about whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI answers name your business.

More on AI Visibility

Is this just hype?

Some of what's sold as AI is hype, and most AI pilots produce nothing measurable. That's why we start by finding the real bottleneck, and the free diagnostic on this site regularly routes people to don't build anything yet. When we do build, it's a working system validated on 1,000+ real cases, not a strategy deck.

More on the AI Tools page

Is AI going to put me out of business?

Not if you use it to serve customers faster than the shop down the street. That's the work we do: taking the repeat work off your team so customers get answers, quotes and follow-up sooner.

More on What We Fix

What does AI integration even mean?

AI integration, the way we do it, means finding where the hours go, building the system that takes that work off your people, putting it where they already work, and training them until it's habit. The same job applies to a private company or a public agency, and the goal is a system that gets used every day.

More on About

Should I hire an AI consultant or figure it out myself?

You can often fix things yourself, and we'll say so. The free Bottleneck Finder gives you a written brief on what's slowing your business down, and plenty of what it names you can fix yourself. Our free Better Prompt page teaches the six-line brief we send client teams. Hire help when you'd rather hand the job off.

More on Better Prompt

Can't I just use ChatGPT for this? Why pay you?

ChatGPT is fine for an everyday brief, but a general tool only knows what you paste in. A custom AI tool is software built around one workflow in your business, grounded in your own documents and rules, with hard rules owning the facts so the same inputs give the same answer every time and every answer shows its source.

More on the AI Tools page

How is a custom AI system different from ChatGPT?

A custom AI tool is software built around one specific workflow in your business, grounded in your own documents and rules, instead of a general-purpose platform like ChatGPT that you adapt to. A custom AI tool does one job end to end, hands the decision back to a person, and shows the source for every answer.

More on the AI Tools page

We're not a tech company. Is this for us?

Not being a tech company is fine. We build around how your business already runs, not how software companies think it should, plus the training that gets your people using it instead of working around it. Our industry pages cover trades, contractors, practices, firms, fleets, distributors and public programs.

Price and payment

How much does this cost?

What it costs depends on the piece. The Bottleneck Finder and the free AI sessions cost nothing, and a First Fix is $500 flat for one automation. Custom builds typically run $5,000 to $35,000+, fixed price, and AI visibility starts with a 3-week Fix from $2,500, then monthly plans from $1,500.

More on What We Fix

Where's your pricing page?

Our prices are published, not hidden behind a call. The What We Fix page at /fix shows real price ranges for each kind of fix, for instance $5,000 – $15,000 when the same information gets typed into three systems, and the First Fix page shows the $500 flat option. Every fix is fixed scope, fixed price, defined finish date.

More on What We Fix

What's the $500 First Fix and what do I get for it?

A First Fix is one automation from a fixed menu of six, built and running in your business inside a week, for a flat $500 paid up front. You get one round of changes once you've used it for a few days, a one-page note on what it does and how to turn it off, and nothing that renews.

More on the First Fix page

Is the Bottleneck Finder really free? What's the catch?

Yes, the Bottleneck Finder is really free: seven questions, about three minutes, no email and no signup. You keep the written brief whether we ever talk or not, nothing is stored against your name, and the Bottleneck Finder can and does tell people to spend nothing.

More on the Bottleneck Finder

Is the Pulse Check or Tune-Up really free? Why would you do that?

Yes, the AI Pulse Check and the 1-on-1 AI Tune-Up are free: no card, no contract, and nothing to buy afterward. We do them because it's the fastest way for you to see how we work, and some of the businesses we help hire us for a bigger fix later. Plenty won't, and that's fine.

More on the free sessions page

Do you charge hourly or a fixed price?

We price by the fix. Every fix is fixed scope, fixed price and a defined finish date, and the ranges on our What We Fix page are real market ranges, not a starting point for a negotiation. Open-ended work is quoted separately and sold in prepaid blocks.

More on What We Fix

When do I pay? Can I pay in installments?

A First Fix is $500 flat, paid up front at checkout. On larger builds, payment is due when you sign the scope, and projects over $20,000 can split into two payments, 30 days apart.

More on the First Fix page

Is there a monthly fee after the build?

A monthly fee after a build is your choice, not a condition. Every build includes 30 to 60 days of support after launch, and after that some clients run the system themselves while others keep us on a monthly retainer, which typically runs $2,000 – $8,000 / month. Running costs for hosting and AI usage are written into the scope before you sign.

More on What We Fix

What do the AI tools themselves cost per month on top of your fee?

What the AI tools cost to run on top of our fee is written into the scope before you sign, hosting and AI usage included, so there's no surprise usage bill in your busiest month. For a missed-call text-back First Fix, Twilio charges its own one-time registration fee and a small monthly fee, billed to your Twilio account.

More on the First Fix page

What's your price for a chatbot or a voice agent?

Chatbots and voice agents are quoted on a call, because the price depends on how much they need to know and do. A voice agent comes in two levels: a basic version that follows a script, takes a message and sends a booking link, and a conversational one that answers from your own documents, which costs more. Running costs are written into the scope.

More on the contact page

Can you do it cheaper? Any discounts?

Our price ranges are real market ranges, not a starting point for a negotiation. When budget is tight, the scope shrinks before the price ever does, and there are smaller ways in: the free Bottleneck Finder, and a First Fix, one automation for $500 flat.

More on the First Fix page

What if the right answer is to spend nothing?

If the right answer is to spend nothing, that's the answer. The Bottleneck Finder can and does tell people not to build anything, and a brief that says so is still yours to keep.

More on the Bottleneck Finder

Do I have to buy anything else after the First Fix?

No, you don't have to buy anything else after a First Fix. A First Fix is a complete job on its own, with no retainer and nothing that renews. When it's done we'll name the next thing worth doing, once, and the decision is yours.

More on the First Fix page

Is there a free trial?

The free ways to try us first are the Bottleneck Finder, a free AI session with Drew Anderson, and the free AI quiz on Agents4Success. The smallest paid step is a First Fix: one automation, $500 flat, with nothing that renews.

More on the free sessions page

Are there hidden fees?

Hidden fees are what we try hardest to avoid. Prices are published before the first call, and what it costs to keep a system running, hosting and AI usage included, is written into the scope before you sign. Where someone else charges, we say so, for instance Twilio's own fees for missed-call text-back.

More on What We Fix

AI is too expensive for a business my size.

AI help doesn't have to start big. The Bottleneck Finder and the free AI sessions cost nothing, and a First Fix is one automation for $500 flat, with nothing that renews. A one- or two-truck operation is often better served by a low-cost app it can buy today, and the brief will name that option instead of a build.

More on the First Fix page

How the work runs

How does this work? What are the steps?

Working with us starts with the free Bottleneck Finder or a free 30-minute call. When a build makes sense, we map the problem and price each option before anything gets built. Each fix is fixed scope, fixed price and a defined finish date, and you see a preview and approve it before anything goes live.

More on the AI Tools page

Who actually does the work? You or a team? Offshore?

Drew Anderson builds the work himself, and nothing is sent offshore. You talk to Drew directly from the first call to the finished system, and the person who built your system is the person who supports it.

More on About

Do I talk to Drew directly?

Yes, you talk to Drew directly, start to finish. The free AI sessions are time with Drew inside your real work, messages through the contact form go straight to him, and on any build he is your day-to-day contact.

More on the contact page

What's your response time if I email you?

Messages come straight to Drew, and he usually replies personally within one business day. After a First Fix checkout, we email you within one business day to book the kickoff call.

More on the contact page

What are your business hours?

Calls and meetings are by appointment. Book a time on the contact page, or send a message and Drew usually replies within one business day.

More on the contact page

How fast will I see results?

How fast you see results depends on the work. A First Fix goes live by the end of the week. Custom builds aim for a first working version in under two weeks. AI visibility work shows first movement at about 30 to 60 days, and we re-measure at 90 days against the baseline.

More on the First Fix page

How many hours will this save me?

We won't promise a number of hours saved. The Bottleneck Finder puts a dollar figure on your biggest bottleneck using the numbers you enter, and those figures are illustrative projections, not a promise. For a job-by-job view, the Hours Back Audit on Agents4Success ranks your repeat jobs by the time AI could hand back.

More on the Bottleneck Finder

What ROI should I expect?

We don't quote a typical return on investment, because any estimate of time saved or return is a projection from the inputs you supply, not a promise. What we can show is cost: the free Bottleneck Finder puts a dollar figure on your bottleneck using your own numbers, and sometimes the plan says don't build anything.

More on the Bottleneck Finder

Can you guarantee results?

We can't promise results, and nobody honest can: AI engines change their behavior without notice, and software can slip. What we can promise is the routine: you see a preview and approve it before anything goes live, and if something slips through, we roll it back first, tell you what your customers saw and write it up within 48 hours.

More on How we build

How do I know it worked?

For AI visibility, the same question set is re-run against the same five engines monthly and in full at 90 days, against the dated baseline, so you see which questions moved. On every project, part of the first conversation is agreeing on what the right answer looks like, and that's how the finished work is checked.

More on the SEO, AEO and GEO guide

How long does a build take?

A First Fix runs one week from the kickoff call. Custom builds aim for a first working version in under two weeks and are phased, so you commit to one working stage at a time. A custom system takes weeks, not days, and every fix has a defined finish date.

More on What We Fix

How often will I get updates during a build?

Updates come twice a week, once a week or on a custom schedule, depending on how long the build is, and you can have a project Slack channel if you'd like one.

What happens after the First Fix week?

After the First Fix week, the automation keeps running without us, and you get a one-page note on what it does, what it needs from you and how to switch it off. There's no retainer and nothing renews.

More on the First Fix page

Can we start with a small pilot?

Yes, the First Fix is the small pilot. A First Fix is one automation from a menu of six, running in your business inside a week for $500 flat, with no retainer and nothing that renews. When it's done we'll name the next thing worth doing, once, and the decision is yours.

More on the First Fix page

How much of my time will this take? I don't have time to learn this.

A First Fix needs very little of your time: access to the accounts the fix touches, a short kickoff call to agree the exact steps, and an answer to a question or two during the week. We build it, test it on your real examples and hand it over running, with a one-page note on what it does.

More on the First Fix page

What do you need from me to start?

For a First Fix, what we need from you is access to the accounts the fix touches, such as your phone system, website form, CRM or email, a short kickoff call to agree the exact steps, and an answer to a question or two during the week.

More on the First Fix page

Do you need logins to our systems?

For a free session, we only need logins for the one thing we fix, and only with you there, and afterward you can change any password. For a First Fix, we need access to the accounts the fix touches. On larger builds, whose accounts the system runs in and how access is handled are decided per project and written into the agreement.

More on the free sessions page

Will I see a preview before anything goes live?

Yes, you see a preview before anything goes live. Every change you or your customers will see goes to a preview link first, and nothing goes live until you've looked at it and said yes. Anything that carries a number, a price or a promise is also checked line by line against its source.

More on How we build

What safeguards and rules does a build follow?

The specifics, like who approves a message before it goes out, how the system is updated and what your team needs to know, are set in the meeting where we scope your project. Every project also follows our written standard: a preview you approve before anything goes live, and a write-up within 48 hours if anything slips through.

More on How we build

We're not local. Can you still work with us? Remote or on site?

Distance isn't a problem for the free sessions: they're on-site in the Phoenix area or by video. For a Pulse Check by video, you share your screen, we watch the same way, and the one-page note is the same.

More on the free sessions page

How soon can you start? Is there a waitlist?

A First Fix starts fast: after checkout we email you within one business day to book the kickoff call, and the fix goes live by the end of the week. For missed-call text-back, the texting registration has to clear first, and your week starts once it does.

More on the First Fix page

What if the thing I want fixed isn't on the First Fix list?

If what you want fixed isn't on the list, tell us anyway. We will say honestly whether it's a bigger piece of work, something you can fix yourself this week, or not worth doing at all. If it's bigger, a custom build is the next step, and we'll say so before you spend anything.

More on the First Fix page

What if my setup can't support the fix I picked?

We check whether your setup can support the fix on the kickoff call, before any work starts. If something in your setup stands in the way, we walk you through your good, better and best options, and you choose how to go ahead.

More on the First Fix page

Who maintains it after you build it? Will you build it and disappear?

The person who built your system is the person who supports it. One-time projects include 30 to 60 days of support after launch, set in the scope, for fixes and questions. After that, some clients run it themselves and some keep us on a monthly retainer to tune it, and that's your choice, not a condition.

More on the AI Tools page

What if it breaks after launch?

If something breaks after launch, the routine is fixed: we roll it back or switch it off first, tell you in plain words what your customers saw and since when, fix it through the same checks, and write it up within 48 hours. One-time projects also include 30 to 60 days of support after launch for fixes and questions.

More on How we build

How long do you support it?

One-time projects include 30 to 60 days of support, set in the scope, for fixes and questions after launch. After that window, a monthly retainer is your choice.

More on What We Fix

Do you offer ongoing or monthly support?

Yes, ongoing support is available. We monitor what's built, keep it accurate as your business changes and build the next thing when it's earned, with bi-weekly or monthly check-ins. Ongoing support typically runs $2,000 – $8,000 / month for teams of 2–5 people, month to month, with a minimum term only when your project outline and signed agreement set one.

More on What We Fix

What if the AI tool changes or shuts down? Won't this be obsolete in six months?

AI moves fast, so plan for change. With a rented chatbot platform, if it changes its price or shuts down, the bot goes with it. You own the finished work we build for your business, and our ongoing plan keeps a system accurate as your business changes, so it still works in month six.

More on the comparison

Can I add more features later?

You can add more later. A new request after the build is quoted as a new project, and custom systems are phased, so you commit to one working stage at a time, never to an open-ended project.

More on What We Fix

Who owns what you build?

You own the finished work that's specific to your business once it's paid for, and your company data stays private: never taken, sold or shared. The methods and tools we use that are our own trade secrets stay ours and aren't shared.

Do I get the source code?

What you receive at handover, including code, is decided per project and written into the agreement for that project. The finished work specific to your business is yours.

Am I locked into a contract? Can I cancel?

You are not locked in. A First Fix is paid once, with no retainer and nothing that renews. Monthly plans can be cancelled any time before the next billing cycle. There's no minimum term unless your project outline and signed agreement set one.

More on What We Fix

What's your refund policy?

There are no refunds. If there's an issue with delivery, we address it and deliver the service you paid for, with revisions if needed. If a project's setup cost is over $20,000 and paid in two installments, you can choose to cancel the second installment and stop the build; the first installment isn't refunded, because it covers setup and time already spent.

More on the terms

What if I'm not happy?

If you're not happy with what we delivered, we address the issue and deliver the service you paid for, with revisions if needed. A First Fix includes one round of changes once you've used it for a few days, and on any project you see a preview and approve it before anything goes live.

More on the First Fix page

What if it doesn't save us anything?

If a fix won't save you anything, we'd rather say so before you spend: the Bottleneck Finder can and does tell people not to build anything. Estimates of time saved are projections from the inputs you supply, not promises. There are no refunds, and if something we delivered isn't working as scoped, we fix it.

More on the Bottleneck Finder

Do you have a contract I can review?

Every paid engagement runs on a separate written agreement covering scope, price, timeline, deliverables and ownership of work product, and nothing on our site is itself an offer or a quote. Ask Drew on a call to walk through it before you commit.

More on the terms

If I leave, can I keep using it?

Yes, you keep using it. You own the finished work built for your business, some clients run it themselves after launch, and a retainer is your choice, not a condition. A First Fix keeps running without us, with a one-page note on what it does and how to switch it off.

Tools and setup

Can AI answer my phones?

AI can answer your phones through an AI front desk: software that answers your phone with a computer voice, talks with the caller, and can do simple jobs like booking a time or sending the call to the right person. An AI front desk should say it's AI in the greeting, so callers who want a person can ask for one right away.

More on the comparison

Do AI receptionists actually work, or do callers hate them?

Some callers do want a person, so an AI front desk should say it's AI in the greeting and give them one in a single step, every time. A Gartner survey of 3,566 customers in February and March 2026 found 87% say a company using generative AI in customer service must give them a way to reach a human (Gartner, August 4, 2026).

More on the comparison

Can AI write my social posts or marketing without sounding like a robot?

Yes, we set up AI to write social posts and marketing in your own voice, built from your past posts, your offers and the way you talk to customers, and a person reviews each piece before it goes out.

More on the contact page

Will AI-written content hurt my Google ranking?

What gets a page chosen by search and AI answers is mostly how it opens, so a page that answers the question in its first paragraph gets chosen over one that builds up to it. In forums, real answers from a real person hold up and anything automated gets removed and hurts the entity, which is why we never do automated posting.

More on the SEO, AEO and GEO guide

We already pay for software that's supposed to do this. Isn't that enough?

The software you already pay for may well be enough. Plenty of platforms already have order import tools, reminders and request portals that nobody set up, and if that's you, the cheaper fix is setup and training on what you already pay for, and we'll say so.

More on the industry page

Can you teach me to write better prompts?

Yes, prompt writing is something we teach. Our free Better Prompt page covers the six-line brief every good prompt contains, with a before-and-after and a table of which tool fits which job. In a free 1-on-1 AI Tune-Up, you bring one task or tool that isn't working and we fix the prompt, the setting or the step with you, live.

More on Better Prompt

Is a white-label chatbot a bad choice?

A white-label chatbot isn't a bad choice for easy questions like your hours, your address and a link to book; it costs less to start and can be up fast. A white-label chatbot gets risky when the answers depend on your own prices and rules, and a wrong answer costs you money.

More on the comparison

Is an answering service cheaper than an AI front desk?

To start, an answering service is usually cheaper than an AI front desk, because nothing has to be built. Over time it depends on how many calls you get and how long they last, so compare the full monthly cost of each at your real call volume, in writing, before you choose.

More on the comparison

Which AI tool should I use? Is ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini better?

For an everyday brief, any of the major AI tools is fine. The differences that still matter are where each tool lives and what it's connected to: Gemini inside Google Workspace, Copilot inside Microsoft 365, Perplexity when you need to see the sources, and ChatGPT and Claude for general drafting and longer work.

More on Better Prompt

Do I have to switch my software?

You usually don't have to switch software. We build around the tools you already use, where they can do the job, whether that's your scheduling program, CRM, project management software or ERP. If your software can't connect to anything, we tell you before you spend money.

More on the First Fix page

Will it work with QuickBooks, my CRM, Google Workspace, Outlook or my website?

We check how your systems connect on the first call, before we give you a price. Some older systems won't connect to anything outside them, and then a fix may become a daily export instead of a live link. If your software can't connect, we tell you before you spend money.

More on the industry page

Is it built in my own accounts or yours?

A First Fix is built in tools we agree on at kickoff: the ones you already use where they can do the job. If a fix needs something else, we tell you before we build it and you decide. On larger builds, whose accounts the system runs in is decided per project and written into the agreement.

More on the First Fix page

Zapier vs Make vs custom? What's the best automation tool?

If Zapier or Make does the job, we'll set it up and say so. We build custom only when the job needs exact answers, your own rules or a connection those tools can't make.

More on What We Fix

Should I build custom or buy off-the-shelf software?

Buy software when a product already does the job the way you work. Build a custom AI tool when the job is specific to your business, the answers have to be exactly right, or the tool has to plug into systems you already run. And if an off-the-shelf tool genuinely fits, we'll name it and tell you to buy it.

More on the AI Tools page

Do you resell a chatbot or phone platform?

We don't resell a chatbot or AI phone platform, and we do not white label anything. Every system is built custom for the business, checked before it goes live, and supported by the person who built it.

More on the comparison

What's a bus factor?

Your bus factor is the number of people who could disappear before work stops. When one person holds the process in their head, that number is one, and a vacation, a bad week or a resignation does it. The fix is moving the process into a system that runs whether they're there or not.

More on What We Fix

Can I start with a chatbot and switch to a custom system later?

Yes, you can start with a chatbot and switch to a custom system later. Keep a list of the questions customers really ask and the right answer to each one: that list is the most useful thing you can bring to any builder, and it makes a later switch faster.

More on the comparison

I tried a chatbot before and it was useless.

A white-label chatbot often disappoints because it knows what was typed into its settings, not how your business really works, so it can sound sure and still be wrong, and a reseller can't fix the engine underneath. We don't white label anything: every system is built from your own rules, prices and documents and checked before it goes live.

More on the comparison

Did you build this chatbot? Can you build me one like it?

Yes. Scout, the assistant on this site, is our own, and it's an example of the kind of assistant we build for clients: it answers only from the pages we publish, and when it can't answer, it points you to a call or a message. A similar assistant for your business is quoted on a call.

Trust, data and accuracy

What results have other clients gotten? Do you have reviews or references?

The proof we publish is production systems that are running right now. Our flagship system is in daily use by a licensed sales team in a regulated industry, answers from 170+ source documents and was validated on 1,000+ real cases, and the Bottleneck Finder was run through 42,000 answer combinations across 57 industries before launch.

More on the AI Tools page

What have you actually shipped? Can I see an example?

Our flagship system is in daily use by a licensed sales team in a regulated industry: it answers from 170+ source documents, was validated on 1,000+ real cases, and turned a 90–120 minute research job into about 45 seconds. The Bottleneck Finder on this site was run through 42,000 answer combinations across 57 industries before launch.

More on Governance

Is my data safe? I'm not handing my data to some AI company.

Your data stays private. It's kept under access controls, only Drew sees it, it is never used to train AI, and it's returned or deleted when the work ends. We don't sell your information, and we'll sign an NDA. For regulated work, we scope data handling with your compliance lead before we build.

More on the privacy policy

Will my customer data be used to train AI?

No. Your data and your customers' data are never used to train AI.

Who can see my data?

Only Drew sees your data, and it's kept under access controls.

Where is my data stored?

Your data stays in your own accounts or ours, under access controls, and only Drew can see it. Where it lives for your project is set in the scope.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, we sign NDAs.

What happens to my data if we stop working together?

When the work ends, your data is returned to you or deleted.

How do you handle client confidentiality and privilege?

For law and accounting firms, we scope data handling with your managing partner and whoever owns your professional responsibility rules before we build anything, and if a tool can't meet them, we don't build it. Some work shouldn't go near outside software at all, and your professional rules decide that, not us.

More on the industry page

How do you handle patient information? Are you compliant with health privacy rules?

For medical and dental practices, we scope data handling with your compliance lead before we build anything, and nothing we build touches diagnosis, treatment or clinical advice. Work that touches patient health information is decided case by case, so Drew talks it through with you on a call.

More on the industry page

Do you save this chat?

Yes, Scout saves this conversation: each question, the reply, which pages it pointed you to and the time, so Drew can read it and follow up. Chats with no contact details are deleted 90 days after the last message, and you can have a chat deleted by emailing info@thanksanderson.com.

More on the privacy policy

How do you keep this from breaking something in my business?

Every project follows the same written standard: one source for every fact, automated checks on every change, a preview you approve before anything goes live, fixed rules for the decisions with AI only writing the words, a live test after every release, and a write-up within 48 hours if anything slips through.

More on How we build

What if the AI makes something up?

To stop AI from making things up, hard rules own the facts wherever the answer has to be right, the AI only writes the prose, and every answer shows its source. That is why the same inputs give the same answer every time and why the output can be audited. Before anyone relies on a system, it runs against real cases with known right answers.

More on Governance

Who's responsible when a chatbot tells a customer something wrong?

Plan on the business being responsible when its chatbot tells a customer something wrong. In February 2024, a tribunal in British Columbia, Canada ruled that an airline was responsible for what its website chatbot told a customer about a discount (American Bar Association, February 29, 2024). That's why any chatbot should be checked against your real rules before it goes live.

More on the comparison

Who makes the final call, the AI or a person?

In every system we build, a person makes the final call. We design each system so the decisions that matter go back to your people, and the system does the legwork of gathering the inputs. In the production system we built, a person still makes every recommendation.

More on Governance

How do you test it before we rely on it?

We test a system against a written evaluation set and against real cases with known right answers before anyone relies on it. The Bottleneck Finder was run through 42,000 answer combinations across 57 industries before launch, and our production system was validated on 1,000+ real cases.

More on Governance

Can it handle emergencies, like a no-heat call?

An AI front desk should not try to handle emergencies. Set it up so urgent calls go straight to a person, every time, with no questions in the way, and anything urgent, upsetting or unusual reaches a person, whether that person is on your team or at an answering service.

More on the comparison

Why does AI get my business wrong?

AI gets your business wrong because it only knows what you paste in. Facts about your customers, your numbers and your past work live with you, and if you don't hand them over, the model invents the gap. Give it your material before you ask.

More on Better Prompt

Why a rules engine instead of letting the model decide?

We use a rules engine because a model can't promise the same answer twice, and a rule can. Same inputs, same answer, every time, and every answer can be audited. The model still does what it's good at, which is turning a structured result into plain language a person can act on.

More on Governance

Do you guarantee it will never break?

No software is promised never to break, and nobody who builds software honestly can say so. What we promise is the routine when something slips through: we roll it back or switch it off first, tell you in plain words what your customers saw and since when, fix it through the same checks, and write it up within 48 hours.

More on How we build

I don't trust AI with my customers.

If you don't trust AI with your customers, the way we build is meant for you: fixed rules make the decisions and the AI only writes the words, every answer can be traced to the rule that produced it, and a person makes every call that matters. Customers should always be able to reach a real person in one step.

More on Governance

Your team

Will this replace my team? I don't want to fire anyone.

No, this won't replace your team. People decide and the system does the legwork. The point is giving hours back to the people you already have, without replacing anyone on your team.

More on the home page

Will AI replace my receptionist or front desk?

An AI front desk won't replace your receptionist. An AI front desk picks up the calls your team can't get to, like after hours or when every line is busy, and it hands anything it can't handle to a person, without replacing anyone on your team.

More on the comparison

Will it replace my dispatcher, billing or office staff?

No, the work we build won't replace your dispatcher or office staff. It takes the typing, the looking-up and the chasing off their plate so they can spend the day on customers, drivers and the board, without replacing anyone on your team. Dispatch decisions stay with your people.

More on the industry page

Will it replace my estimators or project managers?

No, it won't replace your project managers or estimators. The work takes the retyping and the hunting off their plate so they can spend the day on the job and the client, without replacing anyone on your team.

More on the industry page

Do you replace our sales manager?

No, the AI sales coach doesn't replace your sales manager. The coach does the repetition a manager doesn't have hours for, drilling the team on their own material, and the manager still makes every call.

More on Sales Training

Can I cut payroll with this?

Cutting payroll isn't what we build for. The point is giving hours back to the people you already have, without replacing anyone on your team: people decide and the system does the legwork.

More on the home page

Can you train my team to use it?

Yes. We run private AI workshops for a company's team, the same way we train public agencies, priced on a call. Every build also includes an adoption program, a scenario-based training lab and a feedback cycle, and the free AI Pulse Check watches two or three people do their real work and fixes one small thing on the spot.

More on the AI Tools page

My staff are scared of AI. How do I bring it up?

A nervous team is normal, and training is how it gets solved. The team using our flagship system didn't ask for it and didn't want it at first; getting it into daily use took a training lab, readiness scenarios and a feedback loop, and that part comes with your build too. A private team workshop is a good first step.

Industries

Do you work with plumbers, electricians or pest control too?

Yes. Plumbers, electricians, pest control and other home-service trades are covered by our HVAC and home services page: picking up missed calls with a text back, first-draft quotes, notes typed once and maintenance reminders.

More on the industry page

What can AI actually do for an HVAC company?

For an HVAC or home services company, AI does the repeat office work, for instance texting back a missed caller, turning a tech's notes into a clean quote, or sending the maintenance reminder nobody remembers to send. Your people still set the price, the schedule and the repair.

More on the industry page

Can it answer calls after hours and book jobs?

Yes. An AI front desk can answer after-hours calls and book jobs straight into your scheduling software, and it's quoted on a call. If you only need missed calls covered, the $500 First Fix texts every missed caller back right away, and the fuller missed-call follow-up build starts at $5,000.

More on the industry page

How much to automate quotes or missed-call follow-up?

Missed-call text-back on its own is one of the six $500 First Fix options, running inside a week, if your phone system can forward unanswered calls. A fuller system that also follows up on quotes and routes leads is a fixed-scope build, from $5,000 for a team of two to five people.

More on the industry page

Do I have to switch my scheduling and dispatch software?

You usually don't have to switch your scheduling and dispatch software, the program you already use to book, assign and bill jobs. We build around the tools you already use, where they can do the job, and if your software can't connect to anything, we tell you before you spend money.

More on the industry page

Can it text back missed calls?

Yes, missed-call text-back is one of the six First Fix options: when a call goes unanswered, the caller gets a text saying who you are and how to book, so the lead doesn't move on to the next business on the list. It's $500 flat and text only, it works if your phone system can forward unanswered calls, which we check at kickoff, and a fuller version with follow-up starts at $5,000.

More on the First Fix page

Can it ask happy customers for Google reviews?

A review request after every job is one of the First Fix options. When a job is marked complete, the customer gets one short request to review you, and it goes to every customer, never only the happy ones, because Google's Maps content rules forbid picking who gets asked.

More on the First Fix page

Can AI do my takeoffs or price my bids?

AI can't do your takeoffs or price your bids on its own, and we wouldn't build it to. We build tools that pull your own past bids, unit costs and sub quotes into a first draft so your estimator starts from something, and the estimator still owns the number.

More on the industry page

Do I need new project management software?

You usually don't need new project management software, the program you already use for schedules, RFIs and submittals. We build around what you have, and if it can't connect to anything, we tell you before you spend money.

More on the industry page

Can it follow up on estimates that went cold?

Yes. For contractors, we build follow-up on estimates that went quiet: each estimate gets a reminder on a schedule you set, and your team sees who answered and who's still waiting. Your estimator still decides what to say and whether to adjust the number.

More on the industry page

Can it write daily logs or change orders from my notes?

Yes, daily logs and change orders are builds we publish for general contractors. The super talks through the day once and the system writes the daily log, and a draft change order comes from your own template while the conversation is fresh, with the PM still setting the price. Each starts at $5,000.

More on the industry page

What can AI do for a dental or medical practice?

For a medical or dental practice, we keep AI to the front office, for instance texting back a missed caller, sending visit reminders and recall messages, or answering common questions about hours, parking and forms from documents your office approved. Clinical work stays with your clinicians.

More on the industry page

Do you work with med spas?

Yes. We work with med spas through our medical and dental practices page: front-office work like booking consults, answering common questions and reminders, with anything clinical going to a person on your team.

More on the industry page

Does any of this make clinical decisions?

Nothing we build for a medical or dental practice makes clinical decisions. We don't build anything that touches diagnosis, treatment or clinical advice, and anything a patient asks that is clinical goes to a person on your team.

More on the industry page

Can it work with my practice management software?

Some practice management software won't connect to anything outside it, and when that's true some fixes aren't worth doing. Plenty of practices already pay for reminder and online-form features inside the software they own and never turned them on, and then the cheaper fix is a few hours of setup and training. We check how yours connects on the first call.

More on the industry page

Can it handle appointment reminders and recalls?

Yes, reminders and recall are a build we publish for practices. Visit reminders go out on a schedule you set, patients can confirm or ask to reschedule by text, and recall messages go to every patient who is due. This rides on our follow-up build, from $5,000.

More on the industry page

What can AI do for a small law firm or accounting practice?

For a small law firm or accounting practice, AI handles the office work around the advice, for instance sorting new inquiries, chasing missing client documents, or drafting an engagement letter from your own template. Attorneys and accountants still give every piece of advice and sign every document.

More on the industry page

Can it do intake and conflict checks?

Yes, intake is a build we publish for firms. Every inquiry gets an acknowledgment right away, the details get sorted into your intake form, the names go into the conflict check list for a person to clear, and the right attorney sees it with a suggested next step. A person still decides whether to take the matter.

More on the industry page

Can it chase clients for documents during tax season?

Yes, chasing client documents is a build we publish for accounting firms. The client gets one clear list of what's missing, the reminders go out on schedule until each item arrives, and your team sees a live list of who's complete. This is workflow automation, from $5,000.

More on the industry page

What is AI visibility and why does it matter for a firm?

AI visibility is the share of AI-generated answers in your category that mention, cite or link your firm. When a prospect asks ChatGPT for an estate planning attorney or a small business CPA nearby, the assistant names a few firms, and our free check shows whether you are one of them.

More on AI Visibility

What can AI do for a brokerage or property manager?

For a real estate brokerage or a property manager, AI handles the repeat work around a deal or a property, for instance answering a new lead right away, tracking contract deadlines, or sorting maintenance requests by how urgent they are. Agents and managers still make every decision.

More on the industry page

Can AI screen tenants or decide who gets an apartment?

We don't build AI that screens tenants or decides who gets an apartment. Screening and approval decisions stay with a person on your team, under your own written criteria and your fair housing obligations. AI also doesn't price a listing or give advice on a contract.

More on the industry page

Can it follow up with real estate leads fast?

Fast lead response is a build we publish for brokerages. Every new lead gets an answer right away with the listing details and a way to pick a showing time, the conversation goes into your CRM, and the agent sees who's ready to talk. This is our lead capture and follow-up build, from $5,000.

More on the industry page

Can it write listing descriptions?

Yes. We set up AI to draft listing descriptions from the agent's notes and the property details, in your brokerage's voice, and the agent reviews and edits each one before it's published.

More on the industry page

Do I have to change my CRM or property management software?

You usually don't have to change your CRM or property management software. A CRM, short for customer relationship management software, is where you keep your contacts and leads. We build around what you already use, and if it can't connect to anything, we tell you before you spend money.

More on the industry page

Can it handle maintenance requests from tenants?

Yes, maintenance requests are a build we publish for property managers. Every request lands in one list sorted by how urgent it is under rules you set, an emergency goes straight to the on-call person, and the resident gets a reply that says what happens next. A person still approves the vendor and the spend.

More on the industry page

What can AI do for a trucking company or freight broker?

For a trucking company or a freight broker, AI does the back-office paperwork, for instance reading a rate confirmation and filling in the load, answering where-is-my-truck questions from your tracking data, or putting a billing packet together. Dispatchers and managers still make every decision.

More on the industry page

Can AI dispatch my trucks or plan routes?

We don't build AI to dispatch your trucks or plan routes. Dispatch, load acceptance, safety and hours decisions stay with your people, and the software gathers what they need and does the typing.

More on the industry page

Do I need a new TMS?

You usually don't need a new TMS, short for transportation management system, the software you use to book loads, dispatch trucks and bill customers. We build around the TMS you already use, and if it can't connect to anything, we tell you before you spend money.

More on the industry page

Can it read BOLs and PODs and speed up billing?

Yes, billing packets are a build we publish for trucking. When a driver sends the signed delivery receipt and the bill of lading, the system matches them to the load, builds the packet and puts the invoice in front of billing to approve and send. A person still approves every invoice, from $5,000.

More on the industry page

What can AI do for a distributor or wholesaler?

For a distributor or wholesaler, AI handles the inside work around an order, for instance reading a purchase order from an email and entering it, answering a pricing or stock question from your own records, or following up on a quote nobody chased. Your inside sales team still owns every customer.

More on the industry page

Can AI set my prices?

AI doesn't set your prices, and we don't build it to. Your pricing rules get written down as fixed rules in code, so the answer is the same every time, and the software only looks them up and explains them. A person still approves any exception.

More on the industry page

Can it turn emailed or PDF purchase orders into orders in my system?

Yes, purchase order entry is a build we publish for distributors. The system reads each PO as it arrives, matches the customer's part numbers to yours, enters the order in your ERP and flags anything that doesn't match, so a rep checks it instead of typing it. This is document intake and extraction, from $5,000.

More on the industry page

What is an ERP, and do I need a new one?

An ERP, short for enterprise resource planning, is the main business software where your orders, inventory, pricing and invoices live. You usually don't need a new one. We build around the ERP you already run, and if it can't connect to anything, we tell you before you spend money.

More on the industry page

What does AI training for a public agency cover?

AI training for a public agency covers what the tools do, where they help in your actual workflows and how to use them safely. Staff leave with quick-reference guides and prompt playbooks they can use the same day, and most agencies start with this workshop, then build once they've seen what's possible.

More on Public Sector

Can a public agency buy without a competitive bid?

Most public agencies can buy without a competitive bid, because engagements are scoped to fit micro-purchase thresholds. A micro-purchase is a purchase small enough that the rules don't require a bid. Confirm the threshold that applies to your program, and we will scope to it. Nothing here is legal or procurement advice.

More on the industry page

Do your tools make eligibility decisions?

Our tools don't make eligibility decisions. A tool can gather documents, check that a file is complete and point to the rule in your own program materials, and a staff member still makes every eligibility decision.

More on the industry page

Do you provide a capability statement?

Yes, we provide a capability statement on request, along with a scope and responsible-AI notes your procurement, compliance and grant teams can file. If a call shows it's a fit, Drew sends the capability statement and a scoped option that fits your budget window.

More on Public Sector

Do you offer an AI use policy template for staff?

Our workshop covers how to use AI tools safely in your actual workflows, and the free sessions include safe-use basics: what should and shouldn't be pasted into an AI tool, written down for your team. For public agencies, we provide responsible-AI notes your compliance teams can file.

I've been burned by agencies before. How do I know you're legit?

If an agency burned you before, here's how we work instead: prices are published before the first call, every fix is fixed scope, fixed price and a defined finish date, we don't white label anything, and the person who built your system supports it. The free Bottleneck Finder can and does tell people to spend nothing.

More on What We Fix

More on How we build

Will you ask me for a review?

More on Agents4Success

What exactly do I get with the Hours Back Audit?

The Hours Back Audit ranks the jobs you and your team repeat every week by what to hand to AI first, and the ranking is free. For $19 you get a ready-to-paste prompt for each of your top three, built from your own answers, plus the one thing to do this week, emailed to you and yours to save as a PDF.

More on Agents4Success

What's in the AI Starter Kit?

The AI Starter Kit is $49 and gives you a file that tells your AI who you are and how you sound, three skills built for your business, each with a check step so it reviews its own work, and setup steps for the AI you use. Need more than three skills? Add skills for $15 each.

More on Agents4Success

Is the AI quiz free? Do I have to give my email?

Yes, the AI quiz on Agents4Success is free, and you don't have to give your email: ten questions, about three minutes, no email and no signup. You get your AI score out of 100 and three next steps, and the quiz runs in your browser and sends nothing to us.

More on Agents4Success

How long does the audit take to finish?

The Hours Back Audit takes about five minutes. You list the jobs you and your team repeat every week and see them ranked by what to hand to AI first, free, and the same answers always give the same ranking.

More on Agents4Success

Which AI tool does the kit use?

The AI Starter Kit works with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot, and it includes step-by-step setup, with pictures, for the one you use. The kit's files are plain text files you upload to your AI exactly as they are, and they're files you own.

More on Agents4Success

Why pay for the kit when ChatGPT is free?

The AI Starter Kit works with ChatGPT rather than standing in for it. For $49 one time, you get a business file your AI reads before every job and three skills built for your work, each with a check list, so you edit drafts instead of rewriting them. The kit also works with Claude, Gemini or Copilot.

More on Agents4Success

Is the audit or the kit a subscription?

No, the Agents4Success tools are not a subscription. The Hours Back Audit and the AI Starter Kit are one-time digital products, the price is shown before you pay, and what you receive is yours to use in your own business.

More on the terms

Is my payment secure?

Checkout for the Hours Back Audit, the AI Starter Kit and the First Fix is a secure checkout by Stripe. Stripe collects your email address and payment details, and we never see or store your card number.

More on the privacy policy

Can I use the kit for my employees too?

Yes, the AI Starter Kit can be used across your business. What you receive is yours to use in your own business, and you may change it and share it inside your business. You may not resell it.

More on the terms

Will the audit tell me exactly how many hours I'll save?

No, the Hours Back Audit won't promise how many hours you'll save. The hours shown are your own answers added up: what the work takes today, not a promise of what you'll save, and the results are general guidance built from the answers you enter.

More on Agents4Success

What happens to the info I type into the audit?

The answers you type into the Hours Back Audit are saved with no name or email attached, so we can improve the tool, along with the page that sent you. If you buy, Stripe shares your email address and the order with us so we can deliver your result and help if something goes wrong.

More on the privacy policy

I bought the kit. Can you just build it for me?

Yes, if you'd rather have it done for you, that's the First Fix: one automation from a menu of six, built in the tools you already use where they can do the job, running in about a week for $500 flat, paid once, with no retainer.

More on the First Fix page

Do I need to be technical to use the kit?

The AI Starter Kit takes no file editing: you upload the files to your AI exactly as they are, and step-by-step setup, with pictures, covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot. If a .md file is new to you, it's a plain text file that opens in Notepad, TextEdit, Google Docs or Word.
